We believe that trust is built on transparency. While we are incredibly proud of the tool we’ve built and the insights it provides, it is just as important to understand what DreamyBot is not.

Limitations

We designed DreamyBot to be a supportive partner in your self-discovery, but it is not a substitute for professional care or your own intuition. Here is a guide on how to use our platform responsibly.

1. Wellness vs. Clinical Care

DreamyBot is a tool for emotional wellness and self-reflection. It is not a medical device, and it is not a replacement for clinical therapy or psychiatric care.

A therapist is trained to diagnose mental health conditions, manage crises, and treat trauma. DreamyBot is designed to help you explore your subconscious thoughts, identify stressors, and spot patterns in your thinking through dream reflection.

If you are navigating deep trauma, severe anxiety, depression, or feelings of hopelessness, an AI chatbot cannot provide the level of care you need. View Specialized Support & Hotlines.

2. The Nature of Generative AI

DreamyBot is powered by advanced Large Language Models (LLMs). It is an incredibly sophisticated pattern-matching engine that has been trained on vast amounts of psychological theory, dream symbolism, and literature. However, it is probabilistic, not prophetic.

Contextual Limits: The AI does not “know” you in the human sense. It only knows what you share in the chat. It cannot see your facial expressions, hear your tone of voice, or know your history unless you provide it.

Hallucinations: Occasionally, Generative AI can confidently state things that are factually incorrect or make connections that aren’t there. This is a known limitation of the technology.

Our Advice: Treat DreamyBot like a well-read study partner. It has access to a lot of information, but it relies on you to fact-check the relevance of that information to your own life.

3. You Are the Ultimate Authority

Our entire philosophy is built on the belief that you already hold the answers you seek. DreamyBot is simply a mirror to help you see them.

The goal of dream interpretation is not to be told “this is the answer.” The goal is to feel a resonance—an “aha” moment where something clicks.

If DreamyBot offers an interpretation that feels wrong, flat, or off-base, trust that feeling. You are the expert on your own dreams. The AI offers possibilities; you decide the truth. Never let an algorithm override your own intuition.

4. Cultural and Personal Nuance

Dream symbolism is rarely universal. While there are archetypes (like the “Shadow” or the “Hero”) that appear across cultures, the specific meaning of a symbol is often deeply personal or culturally specific.

In a standard dream dictionary, a dog might represent “loyalty.” But if you were bitten by a dog as a child, a dog in your dream might represent “fear.” DreamyBot is trained to ask questions rather than give blanket statements, but it may still miss cultural nuances. We encourage you to correct the AI.

Feel free to share, “In my culture, this symbol means X,” or “I have a personal fear of Y.” The AI should adapt to your context, but it relies on you to provide it.

We are building DreamyBot to help you gain agency over your life, not to hand that agency over to a machine. Use this tool to spark curiosity, to question your assumptions, and to better understand your inner world. ✨
